•Obtained his  PhD in Applied Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Hiroshima University in Japan in 1994 as a Japanese Government Science Scholar  from 1990-1994

•Master of Science in Human Physiology as a National Science Scholar at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City (1981-1987)

•He obtained three post doctoral degrees:

1.  in Molecular Genetics and
2.  on Fatty Acids

•both at the National Industrial Research Institute of the Agency of Science and Technology of Japan. 

•His 3rd post doctoral work in 2000-2001 was on Calcium Regulation. At that time He also served as a Medical Scientist at the Edward Hines Veterans Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. 

 •Awarded as an Outstanding Young Scientist of the Philippines (1996) by the National Academy of Science and Technology.

•At present there are only 262 outstanding scientists since its beginning  in 1980.

Recognized Scientist of the US State Department
Regular Visiting Scientist on Natural Products Chemistry at the University of California in Santa Cruz, California, U.S.A.

• Dr. Oclarit is acclaimed as one of the Who’s Who in the World of SCIENCE from 1996 up to present.

•He is an expert  in Genetic Engineering  and Natural Products chemistry of antibiotics  and molecular biology of antibiotic genes.

• A Pharmacognosy Consultant

•In Pharma Industry

•At present he is a Professor of Medicine at Southwestern University Cebu

His distinct contributions to science is his discovery of  two new compounds: 

1.one anticancer agent against human blood cells and the

2.other an antibiotic against Gram positive bacteria from which

He gained two international patents for the molecules he discovered. 

In year 2000, He also discovered an anti-tuberculosis drug and was awarded as the most Outstanding Researcher of the Department of Science and Technology.  

Dr. Oclarit has traveled and lectured in Biomedical Sciences to: 
The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Brussels, Bremen, Spain, Scotland, Belfast City-Northern Ireland, Dublin, Republic of Ireland, Germany, United States, Japan, Malaysia, Hongkong, Singapore, Dubai United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and China.

Dr. Oclarit also serve as Health Adviser & Lecturer of the Health Department of the Southern Asia Pacific Division General Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist, Washington D.C.
